April update
11/04/10
I’m going to start this off with a big thanks to all the bars/promoters/friends/fans who attended all of our recent shows in Moncton and surrounding areas. Since the new lineup was formed in October 2009, the shows we’ve played in Moncton, Saint John, Campbelton and Halifax have been amazing, you crowds keep giving us a great response and feeding us the energy we need to supply you in this vicious circle of intensity.
We have our new shirt design “Shadow Demons” for sale, message us through myspace or facebook, contact one of the members or just drop by our merch table at any show to grab yourself one and help support east coast metal by picking up some of our D5R merchandise as well. We’ll be heading into the studio as soon as the summertime draws near to record our second album. On this will be all our newer material, including “Solitary Confinement”, “Shadow Demons”, our 10 minute epic instrumental “Les Tenebres” as well as a few other songs yet to be played live. Along with our CD release we’re hoping to release our upcoming live DVD, filmed at The Paramount Lounge in Moncton.
In support of this upcoming release we’ll be heading on Dischord’s first ever tour, which should run us out a couple of weeks, playing the Maritimes, from Nova Scotia to Ontario. Also any of you on the East Coast be sure to keep and ear and an eye open for Dischord in your city as we have a few upcoming shows around in the near future! If you’re in Moncton be sure to be at The Manhattan on Friday, April 30th, we’ll be sharing the stage with Metal Blade’s latest addition, Aeternam, from Quebec, and from Galy Records, Reanimator, also from Quebec. For you fine Nova Scotian folk, there are rumors going around that Dischord may be plotting our revenge show at Gus’ Pub. If you’re reading this and you don’t know what I’m talking about, you had to have been there to truly understand our legacy of bad luck involving Halifax. We’re hoping this return to your city will be flawless, and we’ll truly deliver you a night of Extreme Metal without any breaking guitars, blowing amps, flying pedals, falling cymbals or any other mishaps.
Here is a quick review of our last show done by Don Levandier, for anyone interested:
“Last Night was the beginning of MIMEFest and while the organization has been all over the place (guilty) - the bands last night were far from it. The show was sparsly attended and at times busy – but first up was Dischord – and if you’ve seen them before – you haven’t seen them now. They’ve got a fresh new line-up and they sound really polished. I’m not a metal fan – but their performance last night made me see why so many like the genre. They also looked they were just having a lot of fun playing together. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed watching this band and from the looks on the faces of the crowd pouring in from the Metallica tribute next door – I wasn’t the only one.”
That just about covers this update, be sure to come say Hi at any of the shows and come rock the fuck out and have a drink with Dischord!
-Norm
